Fault Line Series
Fault Line II, cast iron, steel 57”x17”x5”, The physicality of the cast iron panels and the viewers body is a primary factor in my choice of placement. While the wall in a sense formalizes the work, it can extend into the architectural and intimate arena. With the Fault Line series, my goal is to reflect the sensuousness of landscape in tandem with the human body.
Fault Line I, cast iron, steel, 70”x21”x3” A superficial divide shifts the fault. Irregular segmentation and division that occur naturally in nature are often measured scientifically through straight lines and/or grids. I view the straight line as a counter mechanism to understand randomness.
Fault Line III, 3 panels, cast iron, steel, 61”x19” Whether directly affecting the viewer viscerally, or quietly alluding to subtleties reminiscent of the body, I intend for this work to maintain an open-ended quality.
