Artist Statement
Phenomena, set within the landscape, create a space of inquiry for my working process to begin. Spending time in back-county wilderness areas, allows for the process in observation and perception to unravel. This immersive experience facilitates charting perceptual processes and blurs boundaries between imagination and actuality. My intention is to identify moments of awe and wonderment, rewrite and reorganize them, linking back my own experiences in the landscape. It is my hope that my work maintains a level of ambiguity, and remains open-ended in how it is interpreted.
I acknowledge the earth as dynamic, awe-inspiring, life supporting and diminished.
